Obituary
Dean R. Leupold, 63, of Fort Myers, formerly of Akron, OH died on September 29, 2025, at his home. He was a resident of Crystal Lakes (Lot 2) for the past 3 years. Dean was born on January 15, 1962, in Columbus, OH, a son of Herbert M. and Fern A. (nee Collin) Leupold.
He graduated from Canal Winchester (OH) High School. Dean was the executive director of the Crossroads Hospice in Akron. He started it with 4 patients and by the time that he retired the Hospice was caring for over 4,000 patients.
He then was employed as the executive director of Intrepid Home Care. After moving to Fort Myers, he was employed as a framer for Hobby Lobby in Fort Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Bonny (nee Akers) Leupold, 3 sons, a grandson, 2 stepsons, 3 brothers and a sister.
A private funeral service will be held in Ohio for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 4575 Via Royale, Suite 110, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
