Obituary
Dennis Madeiros, age 75, of Cape Coral, Florida, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 with his loving family by his side at Cape Coral Lee Memorial hospital. Dennis was fighting multiple myeloma since his diagnosis in 2023, managing his condition extremely well, however, in recent months his condition dramatically changed and Dennis was unable to continue the battle.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Dawn Madeiros, daughter Erika Madeiros, son Ian Madeiros and wife Pochuen Kwok, along with his cherished grand-children Blake and Tyler Madeiros. Dennis has two wonderful brothers, Raymond Madeiros, the eldest, and his wife Nancy, their daughter Wendy and late son Christopher. Emery Madeiros, his younger brother, wife Debbie and daughter Krystle.
Dennis lived a full life. He was born January 3, 1950 in Hamilton, Bermuda and raised by parents Emery Charles Madeiros and Dora Lines Madeiros. Dennis was always known to be hard-working and very particular, having been employed by Goslings Brothers for over 20 years in Bermuda, but for most of his career he owned businesses in Maine. He continued to work in his later years in sales and design at PCC Tile in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Florida where he resided for the past 26 years.
Dennis forged friendships with people all over the world during his 64 years of playing Scottish bagpipes and playing for several pipe bands in Bermuda, Maine, and Canada. Most family and friends knew Dennis for this unique hobby. Dennis had an uncanny ability to make people laugh whether it be through his enchanting personality or at his expense, but in one word, when you hear “Dennis”, it’s safe to say that anyone who knew him instantly had a common universal visual of who he was: fun-loving, hard-working, dedicated, and caring.
Dennis always had a passion for soccer. Although his playing years in Bermuda for the BAA Club were short-lived, his spirit and favorite team was Manchester United. In recent years, Dennis took pride in watching his oldest grandson, Blake, play for a target rep team in Canada. Dennis loved all sports and enjoyed watching both of his grandson’s play hockey and baseball.
Dennis’s burial will be in Hartland, Maine, followed by a Celebration of Life service in Pittsfield, Maine. Our family is currently making arrangements and details will be shared with friends and family when finalized. Updates will be posted in the link below.
