I knew Doug from his years as a city inspector with the Waterloo inspection department, Cedar Falls Bible Conferences and Doug and Jennifer were my parents neighbors when they lived at 1551 Glenny Ave. in Waterloo. I assisted them in that sale 13 years ago March 6th 2012 when the loaded up and moved to Florida. Doug was always kind, respectful and a gentleman. I am sure his legacy will carry on with the family and friends that new him! Thoughts and prayers for peace and confidence that you will see each other again in eternity.

I knew him when he wrote building permits for Waterloo. Always had a smile and time to visit with me. He was a really nice guy, almost enjoyed spending money for a building permit. Glad to know him. Sorry for your loss.

Our sympathy and condolences to the entire Erpelding family. We met Doug at our church when we first moved to Waterloo. What a wonderful, kind, and faithful guy ! I still remember him giving us our first lawn mower when we bought our first house even though I suspect he was not flush with money at the time.
He had a heart of gold ! You will be missed my friend.
We will see you again in heaven.
