Berger, Elizabeth Rosemarie (MacDowell) aka Betty – 77 of Port Charlotte, Florida died on Aug 22, 2024.
Born December 18, 1946 in Port-Lyautey, French Morocco, Africa to Howard Stanley MacDowell & Lucienne Alice (DeCaillot) MacDowell.
Preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Robert and Stanley MacDowell, her uncle Andre DeCaillot. Immigrating to the United States in 1951 coming through Ellis Island and settling in Orlando.
Graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando in 1964 and meeting her husband a few years later Willard C. Berger, Jr. and marrying in May 20, 1967 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Orlando, FL.
She is survived by her husband Willard Berger, sister Alice MacDowell, brother Mark Elliott, three children, Gene & Anna (Merlak) Berger of Muncie, IN, Howard & Elizabeth (Phillips) Berger of Winter Haven, FL, and Celeste Berger of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, five grandchildren Kaitlin Berger, Christopher Berger, Robert Berger, Lora Berger, and Julie Berger. Many nieces and nephews.
Formerly from Jupiter, Fl and working for Pratt & Whitney as an Administrative Secretary and singing in The Beeliners choir at Pratt. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and moving to Port Charlotte in 2003 where she became involved in St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where she was involved in the Choir. She loved quilting, painting, reading, gardening in her rose beds and orchids, and spending time with her family and friends.
