Obituary
Elsie C. Grisier, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on April 3, 1933, in Shelton, CT to Elsie and Henry Zinsmeister. Elsie lived a vibrant and full life, bringing joy to those around her with her zest for living and her generous spirit.
Elsie had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo and pinochle, making trips to the casino, and savoring meals out with friends and family. Her adventurous side shone through in her enjoyment of bus tours, while her dedication to community kept her active in senior center events and her church exercise class. Elsie’s faith and friendships were the heartbeat of her days.
Her commitment to helping others was evident in her charity work. She spent some of her free time washing glasses for the Lion’s Club and feeding the hungry through HUM, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Elsie’s hands were rarely still, and her heart was always open.
She is survived by her loving children, Jodie Shepard and Eric Grisier, and 3 grandchildren; Kevin Shepard, Kathleen and Amanda Grisier, who will carry her memory forward with love. Elsie was preceded in death by husband Rene Grisier in 2007.
A potluck lunch is planned for Tomoka United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach on April 4th, 2025, at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
