Obituary
Freda Mae Strohminger, 101, of Sarasota, Florida died Monday morning, Dec. 30, 2024, at Brookdale Colonial Park in Sarasota after a short illness.
She was born April 29, 1923, in Perrysville, Ohio, to Issac and Marie (Krebs) Easterday. She worked on the family farm while living with her parents. She always had stories to tell about being a farm girl. She graduated from Perrysville High School in 1941. As a young adult she worked at her Aunt Louise and Russel Pearce’s grocery store in McKay, OH. That is where she met her husband, Robert J. Strohminger. To whom she was married 57 years. She was a homemaker and mother. She also worked at Hartman Electric in Mansfield, Ohio.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Rebecca) Strohminger of Sarasota, FL, and a daughter, Trudy Hamilton of Mansfield, OH, a granddaughter, Stacy Hamilton of Mansfield, a great grandson, Bradley Wendland of Mansfield, a sister Alice Reynolds of Mansfield, and a brother, Robert Easterday of Perrysville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2000, a son Randall, grandsons Shannon Hamilton and Peter Strohminger, son-in-law James Hamilton, three brothers, Lawrence, Leonard, and Gary, and two sisters, Wilma and Doris.
As per her request there will be no services. Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation of Sarasota, FL is assisting the family with arrangements. The burial will be in Windsor Cemetery in Mansfield, at a later date.
