Leesburg, Fl. Gary Alan Lehman passed away at age 70 the morning of July 14,2023 in his sleep at home, surrounded by family. Born October 26, 1952 in Danbury, Ct. he was the son of Arthur C. & Anita L. Waterman Lehman.
He leaves behind his loving wife & partner Debi Diemand Lehman of 33 years. His daughter Jackie Lynn Lehman & Bob Pedercini of No. Adams, Ma. Gary started working as a laborer for local 596 out of Holyoke, Ma.in 1971 & he worked his way up to steward to foreman & then superintendent. 1983 Auditor.
1985 Executive board member. In 1988 became the Vice President. Jan. 1,1990 became President. August of 1992 he became Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer which he served for 13 years. Gary served on several boards. Executive board: Mass Building Trade Council, President: of the Pioneer Building Trades,
Trustee: New England Laborers’ Apprenticeship Program & Trustee of New England Laborers’ Legal Fund, Just to mention a few. Gary was 33 years active in the construction & business agent of the Local 596 & 52 years life member.
Gary enjoyed working the flea markets for years along with his dad at Wilmington, Vt.& other special markets that he loved.
Gary loved golfing with his buddies in Florida, fishing off the coast of R.., attending N.H.R.A., Gary enjoyed camping for 18 years where he met many new very special friends. Cribbage was a favorite of Gary’s.
Cornerstone Hospice-Our most heartfelt thank you for all you did for us, from getting Gary home where he wanted to be to his care with your RN’s, social worker & caregivers. His final days were made easier because of all your kindness. Thank you: Nanette, Joyce, Trish, Candace, Brenda, Tameka, Terri, Sarah, Charlotte, Penny, Ann, Heather, William & anyone else we may have missed. State Service- Thank you Kenny for getting equipment here & Angel for picking it up in a timely manner.
