Helen Teresa Foster, 99, of New Smyrna Beach passed away on May 29, 2020, surrounded by family at Halifax Health Hospice in Edgewater, FL.  She was born in Port Chester, NY,  daughter of the Frank and Teresa Franco Coppola and moved to Port Orange/NSB in 1980 upon Matt’s retirement.

Helen was very active with the Halifax Cruise Club and held the office of secretary for many years. She was an active boater with her husband, Matt, and she is now  peacefully cruising with him in calmer waters. Helen was an avid reader, loved watching sports on television (especially anything Michigan State) and the Orlando Magic and was one of the originators of the Leisure Village Christmas display that the community continues to enjoy. Helen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church (NSB) and past member Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Matthew “Matt” W. Foster; brother Phillip Coppola (Rita), sisters Ann Petty and Frances Ruvo. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Steven Coplar,  children Kathy Foster of Norfolk, Virginia and son Matthew “Terry” Foster (Evie) of Virginia Beach, Virginia,  grandchildren Matthew “Kyle” Foster (Mari) and Aspen Foster Spath (Kris) and  great grandchildren, Lincoln, Wyatt, Tenley, Brixton, Everett, Eleanor and a host of nieces and nephews in New York, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 998 Father Donlan Drive, New Smyrna Beach.
