Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Jerry Joel Landowski was born on January 4th, 1954, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Phoebe (Bjerkeng) and Joseph Landowski. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and later earned his CPA in Texas. He eventually moved to Florida, where he enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in banking, making many dear friends along the way. He moved to The Villages, Florida in 2024, where he enjoyed retirement.

He was married to his loving wife, Janine, for 51 years, and together they raised two children, Justin (Elizabeth) and Jeff (Jessica). He was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Isabella, Andrew, Sophia, and Henry. He is survived by his brothers, Barry, Terry (Laura), and Garry (Angela) Landowski, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories.

Jerry had a passion for world-wide travel with Janine, and embraced all that life in Florida had to offer. He passed away peacefully at home on July 27th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

Please join us in celebrating Jerry’s life as we gather to share memories and honor a life well lived. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 2 p.m. at the Brownwood Hotel, 3003 Brownwood Blvd., The Villages, FL 32163.

I was fortunate to work with Jerry in banking. He was mentor, encourager, kind, smart, and a great sense of humor. His kindness was very real during difficult time in my own life. He meant a great deal to me. I will miss him very much.

Tim and I have been friends with Jerry and Janine for over thirty years. We met Jerry when working at First Union Bank in downtown Jacksonville in the 90s. They are our longest friends from Jax and we’ve had the privilege of sharing many memorable times together. Jerry was always upbeat, fun, real, and had a great dry sense of humor. He and Janine were solid, reliable, a couple to be admired. We’ll always cherish their friendship. He’ll be tremendously missed by many and loved by many. Our continued love goes to Janine as she navigates life without her beloved. All our love, Cindy and Tim Poe

We touch many people's souls during our lives. If we can leave them with kind memories, we've lived well.
I have nothing but kind memories of Jerry Landowski.
He was a good friend and brother in law.

  18. Garry says:

As Jerry’s only younger brother, my feeling of loss in having been blessed with his presence for all of my 69 years of life is profound; and my grief is deep. After graduating from college at Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 1978 with no clue about life; Jerry and Janine offered their home in Houston to me to stay until I had my feet beneath me. That generosity which they both exhibited, was a hallmark of the life which Jerry and Janine exemplified. That can never be replaced; but dear brother —- through Janine, Justin, Jeffrey, Barry, Terry, John and I, and everyone else who you impacted in your significant life; you shall never be forgotten! Our love for you is eternal!
