Obituary
Mr. Jerry Holt Johnson, 75, currently of Bradenton, FL and recently Stockbridge, Ga passed away Thursday, December 26 at PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Sarasota, Fl surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday January 18, 2025 at Kimbrell- Stern in Albany, Ga with the preceding visitation set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Jerry was born in Baxley, Georgia, but raised in Albany, Georgia. He excelled in sports and played college football at Troy. After college, his sports passion continued through playing league softball with his brother, step siblings, stepfather, and what would become hundreds of friends over the years. However his ultimate passion was being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jerry had a calm and welcoming demeanor with a kind and compassionate soul. He graduated from Georgia Tech, and spent his professional career as a structural engineer with a noteworthy accomplishment of designing one of the MARTA rail stations in Atlanta with his brother, James. His hobbies included watching sports, grilling, gardening, riding his Harley, going to the flea market, the beach and pool, admiring classic cars and guns, and making memories with his grandson Brooks, and his dog Sam. His spirit will carry on through his son, Jeremy and grandson, Brooks Holt Johnson.
In addition to his parents and stepfather, L.J. Johnson and Mildred and James Kierce, Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dianne Wells Johnson, sister Gail Warner and his brother and best friend, James Johnson.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Tara Johnson of Bradenton, FL; his grandson, Brooks Holt Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
