Obituary
John David Faletti (Age 61) of Deltona, Florida, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on April 27, 2025. John was born on April 24, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, to John Stephen “Jack” and Eileen Smyth Faletti, and grew up in Middletown, New Jersey.
John graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1982 where he enjoyed intramural sports, designed sets for all school plays, and developed long-lasting friendships. While attending Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, he fell in love with crew and learned to value the benefits of teamwork—a principle he carried throughout his life. John became a successful business owner in the construction industry and a respected professional in the design and sales of custom store fixtures. He was highly regarded across the industry and admired for his integrity, craftsmanship, and willingness to mentor others.
Outside of work, John’s greatest joy was his family. He moved to Ocoee, Florida, in 1999 to raise his two daughters. John rarely missed a chance to coach their teams and cheer them on through every venture. He loved classic movies, challenging trivia, and good music—especially 70s rock. In his free time, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and support his community. John was known, and will be forever remembered, for his kind-hearted and giving nature, creative spirit, desire to live life to the absolute fullest, and those vivid blue eyes. John’s legacy and devotion to family will live on in all who knew him.
John is reunited in eternal life with his mother, Eileen Smyth Faletti. He is survived by his father, John Stephen “Jack” Faletti; his sister, Cathleen Lynn Cotgreave; his brother, Michael James Faletti; daughter and son-in-law, Meaghan Elizabeth and Travis Emory; daughter Danielle Catherine Faletti; and beloved grandchildren, Owen Michael Faletti and Lillian Eileen Dinet.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Americare Water’s Edge in Deltona, Florida—especially Eleanor Gustavsson—for their compassionate care during John’s final year.
A service will be held at 10am on Friday, June 20th at Saint Leo The Great Catholic Church in Lincroft, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, we welcome you to consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
