Obituary

John Sutherland, 60 years young, left this world on October 3, 2024 to join his loved ones on the other side.

John was also known as Rick or Ricky but most importantly as “Dad.” He loved nascar, attending horse races, watching the NFL (Especially his Detroit Lions), eating Mexican food and was always there when anyone needed him. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He took pride in keeping up with his truck and enjoyed traveling for work. He had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh in any situation. He was my hero and always will be.

John was born in Phoenix, AZ and was raised in Rossford, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Krajicek, and stepdad, Andrew Krajicek Jr. of Port Charlotte, FL. He is survived by his best friend and sister Ardith Shelley Goodman, daughter Ardith Nicole Sutherland, cousins Mark and Dani Mathis ,grandchildren Dominic, Jayden and Antonio along with many family and friends.

Baldwin Brothers is honored to serve the Sutherland family.

To Rick who was like a brother to me . We spent lots of time together like fishing and watching football games, and just hanging out together.
He was good at his work, once at his job site his boss called him the best drywall man/painter in South Florida.
Rick would give you his shirt off his back he was always there to help someone out. He will surely be missed by my wife Dani & myself.
We would frequently fly to Florida for a visit and Rick and his Sister Shelley would always treat us like family.
    So long Buddy, Mark

Rick, who was like my Brother that I never had. The two of us spent lots of time together like fishing, watching football games and just hanging out together.
He would give the shirt off his back to his family and friends.
He loved having my wife Dani and I fly to Florida to spend time together.
We will surely miss his laughter and good times. Mark & Dani Mathis

John or as we called him, Rick, was my little brother. He was a loyal and protective man, He was always there for me. Rick was known for his generosity and humor. He would help anyone in need. I loved how we would laugh at just about anything, making life much more enjoyable. Rick was a master at construction and repair. He worked endless hours after Hurricane Ian to help people have a habitable home. As I look around my own home, I see his work everywhere from the paint to the lighting.

Rick is now in heaven with our family. I take comfort in knowing that he is in good hands. I know that he is watching over us until we meet again.

There aren’t any words that could ever carry what I’d like to say about my Dad. How can you say goodbye when your heart wasn’t ready? I’ll cherish our last moments together forever. Give Bomb and Bompie a hug.
