Obituary

John Albert “Jack” Williams, born on June 26, 1937, died peacefully on September 1, 2024, at the age of 87. A devoted church member and friend, Jack lived a life of service and resilience.

Jack was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up with a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He served in the Coast Guard with honor, a testament to his unwavering commitment and dedication. Following his service, Jack proudly served the U.S. Postal Service where he made significant contributions and earned the respect of his colleagues and community.

He was a member of Lighthouse Christ Presbyterian Church in Ormond Beach for more than 40 years, where he was devoted to both a men’s bible study and choir. Jack’s passions included all aspects of mission work. Whether he went on trips or supported them monetarily, he always wanted to be a part of service to different parts of the world.

A memorial service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held on September 21, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Lighthouse CPC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lighthouse CPC or the Special Olympics Florida Foundation.

Jack Albert Williams will be remembered for his steadfast character, his loving nature, and the many ways he touched the lives of those around him.

Jack is my 2nd cousin. We recently met for the first time. My mum's father and Jack's father were brothers from Wales, England. His family in England do not even know Jack has passed. I stumbled on his obituary because I haven't gotten any response to my text messages.

Mr. Williams was a gentleman when our office saw him for his dental visits. We always enjoyed the conversations had and looked forward to his subsequent visits. He was always very punctual and kind!
