Obituary

Karen Anne Dunn, 34, of DeLand passed away on March 25. Born in Kankakee, IL, she moved to central Florida in 2009 from Sugarland, TX. Karen was a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. When she wasn’t working, Karen relished spending time with her boys, baking, wine tastings, reading and traveling. She attended Tomoka Christian Church and was a member of the Florida Association of Behavior Analysts. Karen never complained, having an unshakeable faith. She was faithful to God to the end, living by Psalm 13:5-6 “I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because He has been so good to me.”
Karen leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Patrick Dunn, her beloved boys from whom she drew strength, Conor, Holden and Asher, her parents, Larry & Cathy Hanson, sister Beth & Tommy Ryan, brother, John & Holly Hanson, maternal grandparents, Richard & Mary Jones, paternal grandfather, Morris Hanson, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Karen’s family will have a celebration of her life on Wednesday, March 27 at 1:00 pm at her church, Tomoka Christian Church, 1450 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Karen Anne Dunn Revocable Trust at any Space Coast Credit Union office.

I am grateful for the faith that you all hold dear… Many hearts have been broken today. Today we see through a mirror darkly but darkness will turn to light and we will see you face-to-face. We do not always understand Or have just the perfect words.
Our prayers will continue for your strength and direction.
    Love to you all.

    Loved ones and friends
see your example by the way you live.
Now we see through a mirror darkly.... but one day dark will be light and we’ll see face to face. So many of us will continue praying for your strength —

My heart aches for all of the family. Three small boys are left without their mother. A daughter, mother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and wife has been lost, but the memories will never fade. God has taken her to be with him. She is at rest and never to be in pain again. The tears will flow for awhile, but over time the memories will replace the tears and smiles will once again appear. Much love to all.
