In Loving Memory of Kathryn Ann Van Dina
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathryn Ann Van Dina (née Cacace), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, on May 15, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Born on June 16, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, Kathryn lived a life marked by love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
Kathryn was the cherished daughter of the late Louis and Gemma Cacace. In 1967, she married George Van Dina, and together they shared over 58 years of a loving and enduring partnership. Their union was a testament to mutual respect, deep affection, and shared values.
In 2016, Kathryn and George relocated from Long Island, New York to Port Orange, Florida, where they embraced their new community with open hearts.
As a mother, Kathryn was a source of constant support and guidance to her daughters, Tracie Romandetti (husband Joseph) and Kimberly Sheerin (husband Thomas). Her role as a grandmother, affectionately known as “Mimi,” brought her immense joy. She took great pride in her grandchildren: Emma, Connor, Ryan, and Anna, with whom she shared countless moments of love and laughter.
Kathryn was also a devoted sister to Joel and Louis, and a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Her life was a rich tapestry of relationships, each woven with care, compassion, and a genuine interest in the well-being of others.
A celebration of Kathryn’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1 Causeway N., New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169.
A reception will follow at Limoncello South 737 E 3rd Ave, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169, where family and friends can gather to share memories and honor her legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a VITAS – Hospice www.vitas.com in Kathryn’s memory.
Kathryn’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

How I long for yesterday. You were a beautiful mother figure to me. You were my good friend always. You were my ear, when I needed an ear. You defended me, when I was in need of defense. Both you and Uncle George cared, guided, and help shape me. I will always be grateful and NEVER forget.
As I emotionally write this, I think about yesterday. When I visited Brooklyn on my Dad weekends, the special grill cheese sandwiches you made me with the griller you held over the stove flame. How you taught me how to fold clothes. To this day, I fold my own clothes. The many family Holiday's with delicious meals that were all happy get togethers! You never forgot, I was the only one who did not like ravioli, and always made me Ziti. Yesterday is filled with wonderful memories. I am SO thankful you helped make.
Aunt Kathy, I could not have asked for a better Aunt. I am blessed that you were in my life.
With all my heart,
Your always felt special nephew Louis
