Kirt Hans Klaholz, aged 80, of North Port, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, Debra Waggoner Klaholz and his dog, Axel. Born on October 7, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio, Kirt was the cherished child of Hans Paul Klaholz and Dorothy Schaeffer Klaholz.   Kirt was a devoted husband to Debra Waggoner Klaholz, parent to Kimberly LaBar, Kristy Wertzberger (Ted), and Karly Klaholz, stepfather to Mason Creager, Cristina Sullivan, and Brice Creager. He is survived by five grandchildren (Chase LaBar, Brenna Hartman, Brooke Pusic, Bailey Wertzberger, and Kinlee Davis) and two step grandchildren (Hanah Creager and William Creager). Also surviving, Larry Klaholz, (Darlene), Kirt’s younger brother.

After graduating from Arizona State University, Kirt migrated to Las Vegas in 1972, where he opened a local office of Merrill Lynch.  Later he worked for the Howard Hughes Corporation, as Vice President of Commercial and Industrial Division.  In 1995, Kirt launched Klaholz & Dunn Development.  At the same time, he served as regional senior vice president of Stoltz Management.   Kirt was a major force in Southern Nevada real estate development.  He will be remembered for his ability to mentor many people in the Las Vegas area, where he changed the landscape of the Las Vegas area in his commercial real estate and development career.

Kirt had lifelong passion for flying, baseball, and tennis. He will also be remembered for his volunteer work for the leukemia society and flying young patients to their treatments.  He was a beloved member of the Heron Creek Community, where his friendship touched many and he will be deeply missed.

A private celebration of Kirt’s life will be held at later date.

Our sincere condolences to you and your family, Debra. The passion Kirt had for his career and his many accomplishments will be forever reflected in the landscape of Nevada, etched in the memories of those he knew and especially those who loved him best. He truly loved life to the fullest. His brilliant smile and kind demeanor complimented his great stature, standing proud alongside you as your life mate and protector. He will be sorely missed every minute, every hour, every day. Never do I say 'good-bye' because my faith says death of our earthly bodies immediately transitions us to our eternal home, so I'll end this by saying 'see you later, Kirt'.

    In love,
    Debbie & Lindsay Harrington

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend Kirt. He was well respected by all of his friends for his smile, friendliness and compassion for others. We played league tennis on a couple of men's teams representing Heron Creek. I enjoyed having him as my partner in some matches. Nothing would get by him when he was at the net. His first serve was dominating, which probably came from his early days playing baseball. We always enjoyed our burgers & beer after playing tennis against other clubs.

We will miss him dearly. Rest in peace my friend!
