Obituary
Leon R Pittman peacefully entered the presence of our Heavenly Father surrounded by his loved ones on January 20, 2024 at the age of 79.
Leon was born on May 10th, 1944 to Isaiah and Lee Bertha Pittman in in Chicago, Illinois. The 9th out of 12 Children.
He got married to Elva Mai Mc Claychey on the 26th of July 1964. They had 3 children Leon Jr E Pittman , Derrick V Pittman and Nathaniel A Pittman.
He later remarried to Lucile Verrault and moved to Brooklyn , New York. They had 3 children Miyoshi U Chambers, Markida T McFarlane and Melissa M Pittman.
Later in life Leon relocated to Florida where he lived out the rest of his life.
As a young man Leon had a free and spontaneous spirit. However, as an older man he walked by faith.
Leon was an extremely fit man and loved to workout extensively. He was a loving, compassionate and kind person, and brought much happiness to a lot of peoples lives. He would drive around in his unmistakable classic brown Chevy with his dog by his side. He enjoyed spending time going to the movies, taking care of his dog and watching westerns. He had a very special bond with his dog Baruke. Everyday they would walk around minneola as he ran his errands. He would sometimes sit near the stores and greet people as they shopped. Leon was a remarkable Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather, friend and so much more! Even though he will be missed dearly we will continue to honor him by living a life that reflects his faith and values. We are truly grateful for all the laughter, life lessons and love that he has passed on to all of his children alike.
His legacy will continue through his offspring and in the memories we hold of him.
Leon leaves behind his sons Leon Jr Pittman, Nathaniel Pittman, Miyoshi Chambers, Markida McFarlane, Melissa Pittman-Brown and a host of Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
