Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Lori DeFields, a cherished
wife, devoted mother, and adoring grandmother. Lori peacefully passed away at her
home in Florida surrounded by her immediate family after a courageous seven-month
battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Lori left this world at the tender age of 58, leaving behind
a legacy of love, compassion, and boundless dedication.

Born in Philadelphia, Lori dedicated her life to the pursuit of knowledge and the
betterment of others in a city she cherished. She was an esteemed educator and an
inspiring leader. As a principal and educator, she touched countless lives with her
wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to success. Her passion for education
was matched only by her compassion for those she served.

Throughout her 38 years of marriage, Lori and Norman shared a bond built on love,
respect, and unwavering support. Together, they created a home filled with warmth,
laughter, and endless love—a testament to their enduring partnership. Through life’s
trials and triumphs, they stood side by side, their love serving as a guiding light through
the darkest and brightest of days.
Lori found great joy in motherhood, always exhibiting love and patience. Her love knew
no bounds, and she instilled values of kindness, empathy, and resilience in her daughter
Alicia. Virtues that Lori embodied every day.

As a Bubby, Lori filled her most esteemed role as she showered her grandson Carter
with boundless affection and cherished every moment spent with him. She delighted in
watching him grow, teaching him to read, and singing songs. She was a source of
endless comfort, love, and wisdom to her grandchildren.

Lori approached life with grace and determination, even through her diagnosis and
treatment. Her zest for life was infectious, and she approached every challenge with
courage and optimism. Her accomplishments were many, but her greatest legacy will
always be the love and kindness she shared with all who knew her.

Though she may no longer walk beside us, Lori will forever remain in our hearts as a
beacon of love, strength, and inspiration. May her memory be a blessing and her spirit
live on in the lives of all touched by her love.

A celebration of Lori’s life will be held at Village of Cottage Green (9001 Ashton Rd,
Philadelphia, PA 19136) on April 13th at 12:30pm.This event is semi-private for family and friends.
