Obituary
Lucy Maxine “Max” Platt, of Central Florida, went to be with her Savior on August 22.
She was born in Miami, Florida, and later met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Thomas D. “Tommy” Platt. They were married for more than 60 years before his passing in 2020.
Maxine devoted much of her life to serving in the church, teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. For over 40 years, she worked as a realtor in Central Florida, where she found great joy in helping families find homes. In 2010, she joined Central Florida Community Arts, where she continued to sing and share her love of music while giving back to the community.
She cherished her family deeply and especially loved spending time with and spoiling her grandsons. Faith guided every part of her life, and she was passionate about making sure others knew her Savior.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Platt. She is survived by her son, Daniel Platt; her daughter, Eleanore Ward; her sisters, Shirley Mathers, Lucy McEvoy ,and Janet Fortenberry; her grandsons, Jon, David, and Michael Ward, along with their spouses; and seven great-grandchildren
At this time, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity in Maxine’s name.
