Lynda Wilbanks Bailey, age 75, passed away on November 8, 2023 after a brief illness.  Lynda was born on November 4, 1948 in Bartow, Florida to William H. Wilbanks, Jr. and Rose Maxine (Cook) Wilbanks.   The family moved to Winter Park, Florida.  Lynda graduated from Winter Park High School in 1966.  She later attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.  Lynda spent many years in the banking industry where she was admired for her hard work and dedication.   Lynda retired as the Branch Manager from United Financial Bank of Florida.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William H. Wilbanks, III and is survived by her husband, James G. Bailey, step-daughter, Michelle Teichgraeber (Steve), her sister, Deborah Wilbanks Nelson, brothers, Max Wilbanks and Steven Wilbanks (Alicia), brother-in-law Tony Bailey (Janet), nieces, Courtney Nelson O’Lenick (Thomas), Allyson Nelson Stoddard (Joseph), Estefania Wilbanks Maddox (Jarrod), Maxene Wilbanks, Kristen Wilbanks McNamara, Ansley Wilbanks Thomason, and nephews, Michael Nelson, and, Justin Wilbanks, and a host of great nieces, great nephews and cousins.   Lynda also leaves behind Hachi, her beloved and adored Shiba Inu.

Everyone loved Lynda.   She loved unconditionally, and was a faithful and loving friend to many.  We hold tight to the hope of the resurrection and that in the fullness of time, we will see Lynda again.   To God be the glory for the gift of Lynda in our lives.

Lynda’s wishes were to have a private graveside service for immediate family. She will be interred in the Palm Cemetery in downtown Winter Park Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Lynda’s name to the charity of your choice.

I met Lynda in 1970 when I was just 11 years old and she was my lil neighborhood boyfriend, Steve’s big sister. I didn’t expect her to pay any attention to me, I was a little kid. Not so. Lynda was always so sweet to me and she treated me like I was her friend too, which was so special to me. She also teased me and made me feel like part of the family. We remained friends for decades and would catch up with each other every few years. She was there for me during some struggles in m life, and I always admired her. I’ll miss you Lynda ❤️
