Obituary
Lynne Heath née Melby passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024 after a brief struggle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Heath and dear friend to many in The Villages and across the country.
Lynne was an inspiring classroom teacher first to students in Oregon and then to the children of U.S. service members in Germany and Okinawa while employed by the Department of Defense Overseas Schools. She finished her career in education as a school librarian in New Hampshire.
Lynne was an avid, lifelong world traveler as well as a Master Gardener skilled in landscape design. She was also an active advocate and custodian for the health of our planet. When at home, she was an active member of the Landscape Club North, the Cat Crazy Villagers Club, and the First Responders Claymates. She is missed by many.
To honor her memory and commitment to conservation, a Sweetbay magnolia tree will be planted in the Fred Funk Butterfly Garden in Lady Lake, Florida.
Lynne will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with her husband.
