Obituary
Marsha Ellen Van Vuren, 84, of Titusville, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in South Chicago, Illinois, in 1940, Marsha was raised by her mother, Marie Andrews (later Sasveld). Growing up in a steel mill town, she fondly recalled learning to roller skate on the uneven sidewalks and roads. Marsha completed her education in the area and later met and married Dirk Van Vuren, with whom she raised five children.
Beyond her role as a devoted mother, Marsha transformed her passion for sewing into a successful career spanning over fifty years. Her exceptional talent resulted in the creation of unique and exquisite draperies that graced countless homes, businesses, and institutions. Marsha was truly a master of her craft, leaving an indelible mark on the sewing industry.
Marsha was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Ray Van Vuren, her mother, Marie Sasveld, and her brother, Wayne Andrews. She is survived by her ex-husband, Dirk Van Vuren; her son, Dirk Van Vuren Jr., and his wife, Lori Clark; her daughter, Tammy Wietbrock; her sons, Vincent Van Vuren and Warren Van Vuren; her grandson, Timothy Christopher, and his wife, Michelle; her granddaughter, McKensey, and her husband, Kevin Downey; her grandson, Jason Wietbrock; her great-granddaughter, Emilee Madison Van Vuren; her great-grandson, Kellen Patrick Downey and her great-granddaughter Avery Olivia Downey.
A funeral service will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Titusville, Florida, followed by a graveside service at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Viewing will be from 11am to 12PM, with services from 12PM to 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marsha’s memory can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in recognition of her courageous battle with severe lymphedema.
