Melissa “Mel” Sue Coyt, age 50, was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Melissa was born on October 10, 1975, to Michael Genaw and Cathy Wall (McClellan). She lived a life devoted to compassion and service. She proudly served in the United States Navy as a cryptologist and later dedicated her career to helping others as a paramedic. Melissa had a deep passion for caring for people, whether by offering a listening ear or saving a life in a moment of need. She especially cherished spending time with her daughter and loved line dancing with her, creating joyful memories filled with laughter and music.

She is preceded in death by her father, Michael, and her brother, Michael.

She is lovingly survived by her mother, Cathy, her sister, Stephanie, and her daughter, Hannah, who was the light of her life.

A small visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, 1350 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778.
