Olga Iris Rivera, 79, passed away on July 6, 2025. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on May 15, 1946.

Olga and her family moved to Bronx, NY, in 1949 for more opportunities with a growing family. After completing her education, Olga worked on Wall Street for several years. In 1984 she relocated to Orlando, FL, to be closer to her parents. She changed careers after arriving in Central Florida and worked in a number of medical-related positions including patient care technician and private duty caregiver. Olga also worked in Security for a few years before retiring in 2010.

Olga is preceded in death by her parents Luis L. Rivera and Julia Rivera (Rodriguez). She is survived by her brothers Angel of Hollywood, FL and Hector of Winter Springs, FL; sisters Julia A. Rodriguez of Howard Beach, NY, Maria C. DeBenedetto of Orlando, FL, Milagros A. Delio of Maitland, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Vitas Hospice Services; especially her personal care givers: Sandra, Brenda and Marilyn, who were very much involved in Olga’s care.  These ladies went the extra mile to involve themselves with Olga. They even convinced their manager Joy to allow them to continue care for her, even though they transferred to another team.  The excellent care she received allowed her to remain in her own home for as long as possible. We will be forever grateful.

A Funeral Mass will be held on July 25, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1501 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, Florida 32828. Followed by a Committal Service on July 25, 2025 at 11:30 am in All Faiths Memorial Park, 1390 Park Drive, Casselberry, Florida 32707.
