Obituary

Patricia Joan Bridgeland, a devoted & loving wife, mother & grandma passed away on August 27th after a short battle with cancer.

Patricia was born to Francis Dale & Alice Wilson on December 6, 1940, in Pontiac, Illinois. She grew up in Rockford, Illinois and graduated from East Rockford High School. Patricia met Robert Bridgeland in Rockford, Illinois in 1961. They married on December 12, 1964, and would spend the next 60 years together. They lived in California for a few years before returning to the small farming community of Byron, Illinois where they started a family. She had two daughters, and she was their biggest fan whether it was sports or a school play, she would be there supporting them. Patricia relocated to Florida in 1990.

In her spare time Patricia liked to read, enjoyed a good Elvis movie and was always up for an adventure with her daughter and grandson. She was a loving and self-sacrificing woman that found joy in serving others and everyday moments with friends and family. Those that knew Patricia will remember her generous heart, unforgettable laugh and great hugs.

Patricia is survived by her husband: Robert Bridgeland. Daughters: Tammy (Glen) Preece, Ocala FL and Julie Bridgeland, Ocala, FL; Grandson: Matthew Preece; Sister: Mary (Ron) Lyford and several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Many many years the Bridgeland Brood and spouses would gather in Goshen Indiana to play and ...yes eat! When we women would shop it was the same every year. Marianne and Ann were the quilters so off to the fabric store they went. Carol and would like to browse but hardly bought much. Now Pat and Kathy didn't much care for shopping so they would sit in the <br />
Amish rockers and watch the crowds go by, that is after Pat had bought Matthew his shirt! We have soooo many wonderful memories of our get together...that is the one thing we have left. Everyone is right... it's Pat's smile that will never be forgotten!
