Paula A. Gilberto Carroll
August 22, 1926 – January 18, 2019
Paula A. Carroll of Port Orange, FL reached for the hand of her heavenly husband, ten years to the day of his passing to take his bride to join him in heaven.
Born to Guiseppe and Sebastiana Ferla Giliberto in Hartford, Connecticut. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Oscar Eugene Carroll Jr., Grandson William, Son-in-law, Frank E. Josenhans. She was one of 16 loving children. Salvatore, Gaetana, Raphael, Camille, Frank, Orlando, Rinaldo, Michelina, John, Paul, Joseph and Gene. Three children passed at an early age.
She leaves two brothers, Orlando (Landy) Gilberto of Albany, New York, and Joseph Gilberto Jr. of Newington, CT. Her children, Gene-Paul (Adelaide), Wayne, and Jeffery (Jeanne) and one daughter Kathy-Lynn Carroll Josenhans, one Step-son Ronnie Eugene Carroll (Vickie) of Cleveland, TN.
Also leaving to grieve her loss, 7 Grandchildren, Gene, Robert, Nicholas (Ivey), Chad (Samantha), Melissa, Jeff (Spirit) and Steven. She leaves 11 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. She leaves many cousins, sister in law’s, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her funny jokes and sweet giving heart. We will all miss her cards.
She was a long-time resident of Port Orange, Florida moving here from Tennessee in 1985. Paula and Oscar (Gene) moved from Connecticut to Tennessee in 1970 before making their home in Florida. Paula had several careers including being a Cosmetologist, A well-known Portrait Oil Artist, Professional Photographer, Professional singer and actress acting in films in later life. She starred in local films here in Daytona Beach and was a former President of the FMPTA. She owned Giliberto’s Italian Deli in Cleveland, TN for several years before relocating to Florida.
She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and touched the lives of all who knew her.
There will be a Celebration of her life on Sunday, February 24th from 1:00 to 4:00 at her son’s house on Pelican Bay Drive in Daytona Beach, Fl. All who knew her are welcome to join us. We are so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a precious soul who will be missed, and remembered by many for a long long time. She brought something unique and special into each one of our lives and we loved her dearly. She is with your dad once again.

How fortunate we were to come together as friends those years ago! You have been a real treasure in our lives and we miss you terribly. We shared so many great laughs and crazy stories! I miss not talking to you nightly on Skype. I miss your keen sense of humor, your wit and so much more. Most of all we miss you "Renaissance Lady". We love you Paula.
