Obituary
Richard Jay Chapman “Rick”, age 78, died on October 14, 2025 at Alwyn C. Cashe veterans home in Orlando, Florida after battling Parkinson’s disease. Originally from Battle Creek, Michigan, he served honorably in the US Army during the Viet Nam conflict and will be forever grateful for the care he received from the VA. He lived in Oregon for many years until realizing his dream of moving to Florida in 1998. Rick worked as a journeyman millwright, helping to manufacture everything from dog food and roofing to potato chips and cookie sprinkles. He loved riding his motorcycles, collecting movies and music, and lounging in his backyard pool with his adopted family of thirty years. He took pleasure in the animals around him, whether pets or backyard squirrels. He drew comfort from his faith and never lost his sense of humor. Rick is survived by sons Dean and Sonny Chapman, sisters Naomi Love and Marsha Densmore, brothers Ramon and Mark Chapman, and life partner Eunice Johnson. His memory lives on in the hearts of those of us who knew and loved him.
