Obituary

Richard Ray 76, of Royal Highlands, Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on October 27th 2024 at his home with his wife and daughter at his side, after his battle with oral cancer.

Richard (Rick) was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Ray, his father FA Ray and his son Robert Ray.  Richard is survived by his beloved wife Kerstin, his daughter Rita Dupas (James), grandson Craig Dupas, granddaughter Lauren Dupas, his bonus son Joel Price, his sister Sherry Diamond, his niece Leslie Yeary (Chris), nephew Dax Diamond (Stacey) and Linda Mills.

Richard spent his early years working in the East Texas oil fields, as he worked his way through college, along with raising a family.  He earned his bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University and held several Manufacturing management positions with GE, Trane, and Carriere. He had a love for following the financial market and spent a lot of his later years Day Trading.  He enjoyed engaging his friends in political discussions and he was a true Patriot.  Richard was a loving father and liked sharing his wisdom and experiences with his loved ones.  His favorite place to be was in his mountain cabin, taking off every evening with his wife by his side, in their pontoon, catching big bass and watch the sun set on the lake.  That was what Richard called living the good life.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
