Rich was born in Lansing, MI on August 10, 1945. He passed away peacefully November 7, 2024. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Arsie & Lily Mae Reid.

Rich was a deeply devoted family man and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda; his children Julie (Alan) Spalding; Dave (Kim) Reid; grandsons Alex (Virginia) Reid & Ryan Reid; great grandson Elias Reid.

Rich retired from Nabisco after 30 years of dedicated service. He then joined his wife and son in the family owned insurance agency in Mason, MI.

Rich enjoyed playing golf and his many fishing and hunting trips with his son, grandsons and many friends. He was a long standing, active member of The Lions Club of Mason, MI.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at The Villages Hospital and the exceptionally compassionate care he received during his short stay at Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages.

It’s hard to express what an important role Rich & Linda had in our lives for many years. Our business suffered a very large catastrophic loss - one that could have easily put an end to our world as we knew it. Rich not only ensured that we were properly covered, a feat in itself that was overwhelming as we had many policies within our business policy. That ultimately ensured we didn’t skip a beat to continue our work and lessened the unbelievably massive stress load that we were carrying.
As well, more importantly I remember him standing with us the next morning- being there as a supportive force- almost crying with me, not just as an agent but as a friend.
His long standing support was exactly who he was- a man with the utmost integrity & and a smile a mile wide.
I am sure he belonged to a life well lived as it was well deserved.
My deepest condolences to your family & most
    Importantly to Linda.

Rich will always have a special place in my heart. He, along with Linda, have been such dear friends over the years to Tom and me. We have many happy memories of our times together during our Nabisco years and beyond that just make me smile. And speaking of smiles, that is how I will always remember Rich, with his wonderful warm smile! May you rest in peace dear friend.
