Obituary
Richard Wayne Shields age 81, died of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease on January 3rd, 2025, in Altamonte Springs, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Shields, of Sanford, FL; his daughter, Laurel Borthwick, of Sanford, FL; and his Son, Ryan Shields, of Sanford, FL; his son-in-law, Todd Borthwick; his 3 grandchildren, Amanda (Keithan), Zachary (Tabitha), Kacey (Morgan); and his 5 great-grandchildren, Justice Bailey, Emma Rawlings (Borthwick) and Bryson Borthwick, Jameson and Mavery Borthwick; and his 2 Granddogs Lilly and Molly Shields. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Evelyn Shields.
Richard was born on December 22, 1943 in Columbus, OH, to parents Leslie and Evelyn Shields. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School. in 1965 he married Judith in Columbus OH. Richard and Judith were happily married for 59 years. Richard was a great family man and a loving father. The couple had 2 children together. In 1983, Richard and his family moved from Ohio to Central Florida.
His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, loving and caring person with a great sense of humor and who loved THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!
