Obituary
Robert “Bob” Humble was born on New Years Eve in 1944. He was born to Roberta (Parton)and Cecil Humble. Bob retired as Materials Manager from General Mills in Toledo, OH. Prior to his retirement he visited some friends in The Villages, FL, and fell in love – so when he did retire he headed down to The Villages and never looked back! He spent the last 25 years of his life getting to golf, hang out with his friends, sing Karaoke (especially Elvis songs!), drink his scotch and soda (after his multiple cups of coffee each morning of course) and smoke his cigarettes. In 2008 he met the best woman ever in Nancy Sprenz and they were together until the end – Nancy passed in February, and Bob didn’t like to be alone, so it’s no surprise he passed just over 1 month later.
Bob was an amazing and loving father to his two children – Heath (Becky) Humble, and Brooke (Jason) Dalton. Even though Bob was a “tough guy” and was known for his temper, he was a big ol’ softy in his retirement years. He cherished his children, as well as his grandchildren – Jordan Miller, Ashley (Jeremy) Raymer, Logan Humble, Paige Humble, Matthew (Hannah) Dalton, and Joshua Dalton, as well as his great grand children from Ashley(Jeremy) – Charlotte and Benjamin Raymer, from Paige – Carson Humble, as well as his great grandson that is on the way from Matthew (Hannah). He was especially grateful that he got to spend time with many of his family members in his last weeks.
Bob also loved his friends, and he and Nancy had some of the best friends ever – he wouldn’t want us to forget to mention them and their kindness and the care they gave to him especially in his final weeks. So thank you to Linda, Steve, Stephen, Gerry, Grace and many others in The Villages that he has known over the last 25 years!
Bob passed away on March 15th, 2025 with his daughter and son in law holding his hand, in his home, just as he wished. Bob is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all mentioned above, as well as his nieces Lisa and Lori. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Roberta; as well as his partner Nancy; and nephew Larry.
“When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer….So every dream I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times….I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end, without a song, a man ain’t got a friend, without a song, the road would never bend – without a song. So I keep singing a song” – Elvis Presley
Keep singing the songs Dad – we love you – Heath and Brooke
