Sandy was (and will continue to be) one of my heroes. I’ve known her all my life, as she was best friends with my aunt. When I was a little girl, I overheard Sandy tell a “dirty joke” (Why did the Butterball turkey get returned to the supermarket? . . . ;) Just a few years ago, she called me via Facebook (Facetime). I answered wondering if it was really her as we didn't speak that often over the phone. I heard her infectious guttural laugh and say "I don't know how I did this, but oh well, how are you?" We chatted for quite time time until we both started laughing again because neither of us knew how to hang up! She was always there whenever anyone needed her. I loved learning gardening from her and can still hear her telling me “don’t cut the plants back at the end of the season until all of their goodness goes back into the soil” complete with hand gestures as she spread her arms wide and bowed in front of her garden. She also introduced me to the climbing hydrangea. I will always think of her when I work in the garden.

My condolences to Sandra’s family, She was one sweet person and always stopped to see us when in the area. Knew Sandra from the time she was growing up then was our baby sitter. She accomplished her RN and away she went for many adventures! We have followed those for many years! Now is the time to rest Sandy! Will miss you so much. RIP.
    Betty
