Obituary
Sherry Ann (Densmore) Bowering, 70, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2025.
Born on February 21, 1955, in Mishawaka, Indiana, Sherry had a deep love for family and music. Sherry is survived by her beloved son Shawn Gear, stepdaughters Tracie Rhymer and Dana Ahler, and their families and her cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her parents, Tom and Shirley Densmore, and her siblings Terry Densmore, Debbie Edwards, and Kathy Tam, and their respective families, including countless nieces and nephews.
A talented bass musician, Sherry found joy in playing music. Her passion for music brought people together and created lasting memories for those lucky enough to hear her play. Her family and friends will always cherish the way her laughter filled a room and her infectious smile. In fact, she never met a stranger — she’d strike up a conversation at the drop of a hat. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who met her.
A private family gathering was held at her favorite Punta Gorda restaurant to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests listening to your favorite bluegrass song and remembering her with joy.
