Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Earl Marion, who departed this life peacefully in his home in Port Orange, Florida, on February 4, 2025, at the age of 78. Stephen was born on March 26, 1946, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Robert and Birdie Marion.
Stephen devoted his life to ministry, serving with unwavering dedication for over 50 years. His heart for others and his deep faith touched countless lives as he worked to spread love, hope, and the message of faith throughout his life. In addition to his ministry, Stephen also worked as a special education teacher for 25 years, where he made a profound impact on the lives of his students. He was not just a minister or teacher—he was a mentor, a friend, and a beacon of wisdom to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Stephen was a dedicated husband to Janet, his loving wife of 56 years, and a devoted father to his son, Mark Marion, and daughter, Christine Marion-Lopez. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Austin Marion (Amber) and Brianna Lopez. He was also a proud great-grandfather to his great-granddaughters, Kaley Hughes and Macie Marion, and his great-grandsons, Christopher Hughes, Rylan Marion, and Beau Marion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert N. Marion, his mother, Birdie M. Marion, and his brother, Dana Marion. He is survived by his remaining siblings: Wayne (Pam) Marion, Bruce (Nancy) Marion, Bobby (Missy) Marion, and sister-in-law, Joann Marion, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Stephen’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He believed in building not just structures, but also relationships and memories that stand the test of time. His impact on the lives of his loved ones is immeasurable, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of his journey.
A man of wisdom, patience, and unwavering guidance, Stephen will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for the Lord, his family, and his community will live on forever. May he rest in peace, knowing the profound difference he made in this world.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Stephen. Details will be shared soon.
