Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stone G. K. Bennett, who left this world on May 22, 2025. Born on July 26, 1996, in the beautiful coastal town of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Stone was a radiant soul whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 28. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, passion, and remarkable accomplishments.
Stone was the cherished son of Wayne and D’Laina Bennett. He grew up in a nurturing household that embraced his adventurous spirit and encouraged his diverse interests. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Bennett, and his grandmother, Sue Godfrey, who both held special places in his heart. Stone is survived by his loving parents, his brother Noah Bennett, and his sister Lacey Bennett, who will carry his memory forward.
From a young age, Stone demonstrated a remarkable talent and passion for everything he pursued. He was a gifted skateboarder, showcasing his skills as early as 12 years old as a sponsored skater for Sector 9 Skateboarding Co. Stone competed alongside grown men always excelling, whether it was vert, park, or bombing the ditches of Albuquerque. Stone’s love for skating spilled into snowboarding, where he conquered the terrain park on the very first day he set foot on a board.
In addition to his athletic prowess, Stone had a thirst for adventure that led him to the skies. He earned his pilot’s license at the age of 17, soaring through the clouds with the same passion and determination he applied to every endeavor.
Stone also had a soft spot for animals, always showing them the same kindness and care he gave to people. Whether it was a family pet or a stray in need, he had a quiet way of connecting with them that reflected his gentle spirit.
Stone’s ability to excel in so many areas of his life was a testament to his character—he was a quiet yet kind presence, and those who knew him were naturally drawn to his warmth and authenticity.
Stone’s life was a tapestry woven with moments of joy and inspiration. His gentle spirit and infectious enthusiasm for adventure left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a special gift for making others feel valued and loved, and he showed us all the beauty of living authentically.
A funeral service to celebrate Stone’s life will be held in Albuquerque, NM.
Though Stone may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Let us honor his memory by cherishing the moments we shared and embracing the joy he brought into our lives. Stone Bennett will always be remembered as a bright light, a loving soul, and an inspiration to dream big, live fully, and love deeply.
