Obituary

Tony Dale Conard, born on May 6, 1949, in Mount Holly, NC, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Port Charlotte, FL. A devoted family man, Tony loved nothing more than spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife, Noriko Kurose, whom he married in Japan, and their son, Paul Darrel, and daughter, Allison Madori, along with her husband, Ryan Birdsey, and their children, Asher Bane and Maci Grace. He also leaves behind his brother, Tim Conard, and his wife, Rebecca, along with their children. A man of service, Tony dedicated many years to the armed forces, serving in the Air Force and the National Guard. He was proud of his service to his country and his commitment to his faith as a Christian pastor, leading his own congregation for a time. Notably, after his church was damaged during Hurricane Hugo, Tony opened his home to his congregation, providing a safe space where they could find comfort, hot showers, and meals.

Tony was known for his honesty, strong-mindedness, and a heart full of love and generosity. His passions included golf, enjoying a good steak and cheeseburger, and listening to the music of Elvis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, and The Gaithers. He had a fondness for country westerns and was an avid fan of NASCAR, football, and golf, often sharing these interests with his family. An active community member, Tony was involved with the Wounded Warriors charity, demonstrating his compassion and commitment to helping others. His favorite place in the world was Japan, a testament to the love he found there. Tony Conard will be remembered not only for his achievements in industrial management and sales but for the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him. A man with a huge heart, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Baldwin Brothers of Port Charlotte is honored to serve the Conard family.

A kind soul and always respectful.
Tony was a true southern gentleman.
I think he inherited his love of “old country” from his Uncle JL Garrett.
    God rest his soul.
