Obituary
Wanda Roman Flores, age 66, of Ocala, Florida passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 22,2024.
Wanda Flores was born on November 24, 1957 to her parents, Bernabe and Sarah Flores in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Roosevelt Roads Naval Base. She was employed at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office as a paralegal in the Domestic Violence Victim Advocate Program for ten years, and Miami Beach Domestic Violence Advocate, and Surfside Police Department as Public Service Aide. Wanda was an active community individual who was deeply involved in advocating for the disadvantaged, homeless and seniors for the majority of her life. Her family and friends will always remember her as constant smiling, her pleasantness, helpfulness, and positive people skills, especially enjoying not only the roles she had in her employment, but radiating a sense of confidence in all her endeavors.
She is survived by her siblings, Miriam Murray of Ocala, Florida, Orlando Flores of Jacksonville, Florida and Belinda Flores of West Palm Beach, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Roman Flores; father, Bernabe M. Flores, brother, Bernabe “Barney” Flores; sister, Yolanda Hohenstein; and sister, Norma Flores.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, 10AM, at Central Christian Church, 3010 NE 14TH Street, Ocala, Florida 34470. The family would like to thank everyone for their gifts, courage and support. Flowers and donations can be sent to the church office (see address above).
